1911 Fairbanks Little Wonder Model 8-string Banjo Mandolin

1911 Fairbanks Little Wonder Model 8-string Banjo Mandolin, made in Boston, Mass., with (description to the best of my ability) a 13 ¾” maple neck and 10 3/16” maple rim with natural finish, ebony fingerboard, skin head, black hard-shell case, original clamshell tailpiece cover, brass tone ring, dyed wood heal cap bone nut and pearl dot inlay. Very nice, solid/heavy, and early example in great condition for its age. Has dowel stick markings showing the maker. Rim and dowel marks suggest it once had a resonator. Overall length is 24 in. (61 cm.), 10 3/16 in. (25.9 cm.) diameter head, and 2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 3/4 in. (349 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/8 in. (29 mm.). Great playing condition and ready for country blues, folk, jug band/string band music.
